- 1 head of green cabbage
- 1 head of red cabbage (or another green one if red is too expensive or unavailable)
- 1 bunch green onions
- 1 package slivered almonds
- 1 Tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 cups of diced cooked chicken
- 2 packages Chicken Ramen
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 4 Tablespoons Sugar
- Dash of pepper
- 6-8 Tablespoons of Vinegar
Chop up the cabbage and put it in a large bowl.
Toast the almonds lightly in a pan, careful to not burn them.
Crush up both packages of ramen and add to the cabbage.
Toss in the chicken, sesame seeds (add to taste) and almonds in with the cabbage, and mix it all together.
In a small bowl combine oil, sugar, pepper, vinegar and one seasoning packet from the ramen. Stir thoroughly.
Put a cover on the bowl (we use a tupperware for this step) and shake vigorously until all is combined.
Right before serving, mix the dressing in with the cabbage mixture and serve.
A Few Notes
We like to add a bit more vinegar. Gives it some extra tang. Play with it and see what you like.
Other interesting things to add is a dash of hot sauce to the dressing, or some diced garlic.
